The Synergy Counselling team started with a vision for high quality counselling services in Kamloops and outlying areas. Celeste Schell and Viviane Wingerak have shared this dream and passion, joining forces in 2010. They have since been proud to welcome therapists Nadine Mathews, Sean Monaghan, Jillien Humphrey, Leilah Stella, Carrie Kyle, Ryan Barlow, Jennifer Cane, Bombardier and Eric Rankin. Their experience, expertise and ethical standards complete the Synergy team.
Our therapists are trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Play and Expressive Therapies, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Satir Systemic Family Therapy, Addictions Counselling, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, Person-Centered Approaches and Collaborative Separation/Divorce Coaching. Viviane has a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and has been involved in the counselling field since 2000. She works with both children and adults.
Celeste has been working in the field since 2000, starting with Child and Youth Mental Health Services. In her time there she performed intake duties, urgent response, suicide risk assessments, mental health assessments, treatment planning and therapy with many young people in Kamloops.
Nadine is a registered social worker (#08802) with a masters degree in social work and post graduate certificates in holistic expressive play therapy, and Aboriginal Family Systems.
Sean is a BC Registered Clinical Counsellor (#5304) with training in several counselling approaches. Sean specializes in youth, family, and individual counselling with over 10 years experience as a counsellor in Kamloops.
I am a Registered Social Worker (#09850) with the BC College of Social Workers and have been practicing as a therapist and social worker in a number of different settings since 2001.
Leilah is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#12055) with a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. She has been working with children, youth, adults, couples and families for twenty years.
Carrie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#15822) and holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and a degree in Elementary Education.
Ryan has a Masters Degree in Counselling and has been involved in the counselling field since 1999. He is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#2032). He was inspired to begin his journey to becoming a therapist during his first degree as a Special Education Elementary teacher.
Jenn has a Master’s Degree in Social Work, a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Youth Care (BCYC), and has completed a certificate in Sany’as Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. Jenn provides counselling services for children, youth, and adults.
Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McGill University and a Master of Education in Counselling from Thompson Rivers University. Additionally, she has training in Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy (Level One Certification), Narrative Therapy (Foundations), a Certificate in CBT Groups for Anxiety, and a Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#18701) with an educational background in Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta and a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University. Helping individuals, couples and families navigate complex relationships and difficult transitions to create understanding, hope and growth is my focus of practice.
I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University), a Master of Education (TRU), and a Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Psychology (UVic). I am currently a student member with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), and still pursuing my professional/clinical registration.
Val Bloomfield joined the Synergy Team in Oct 2017 filling in for holidays/sick days. Three years later she’s taken on the role of Office Manager. She is one of the friendly voices you’ll hear when you call the office in the mornings. She is our best resource if you have any billing questions or if you need some support in using the Jane app.

Pam Harrison is a passionate, hard-working, and driven, mother of two, who gives her best effort to every challenge she is presented with. From greeting every client with a smile, and her contagious laugh, to keeping our office and counselors organized, she is a welcome sight behind our front desk.
